Product Description
Mozart's "Musical Joke" K.522 is arranged here by adjusting its satirical features, which were aimed at clumsy composers and performers, and thus it is transformed into a rather regular Classical composition, still with much of its whimsical character inevitably preserved ("Divertimento serio", i.e. serious Divertimento).
According to Classical performing practice, the original was meant to be played by solo instruments. Probably the "Basso" part was usually played by a double bass, yet apparently there were no standardized practices and therefore a cello (plus double bass) may have been used when available.
Appropriate for students of Classical style. Total duration: 18 min. 30 s. The mp3 audio clip is the second movement, Menuetto. Performing Rights Organization: SOCAN.
