Product Description

"Broadway Rhythm" is a vibrant song-and-dance number that appeared in several Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer musical films, from Broadway Melody of 1936 to Singin' in the Rain.

This arrangement for piano solo uses the instrument to imitate the colorful brass orchestra sound of the golden age of musical cinema. It can be used as an étude to train some technical challenges including the repetition of quick patterns (requires an agile left hand!), different kinds of textures and sonorities, glissandos and arpeggios. An advanced level pianist should not take long to master it and enjoy it's brisk changes of moods and fast-paced energy! Contains some basic improvisational moments in the form of free arpeggios over a given chord, and a brief bluesy interlude that could be freely modified by a jazz pianist.

A great choice for a brilliant ending to a live performance of pop-jazz or film music repertoire. Approximate duration: 2 min. 25 sec.

Feedback is welcome.
