Product Description
"Freedom's Cost" is a beautiful lament on the price that has been paid by the few for so many, full of irony. With an 18th-century text by William Collins, this art song has been written with the style Schubert in mind (it was a Composition Modeling class project I completed when working on my doctorate). Haunting and lugubrious, it captures the essence of the ironic text. This would be great material for a faculty or student conservatory recital, or a public art song concert. Very accessible for less-experienced singers, yet providing plenty of depth for interpretation.
