Product Description
Shostakovic's 24 Preludes and Fugues, composed in 1950, are a tribute of the Russian composer to J.S. Bach, in his work "Preludes and Fugues".
On this occasion, Fugue No. 5 is presented in 3 voices, in arrangement for WoodWind Quartet and containing a rhythmic motif that contrasts with its legato counterpart, which gives a slight contrast that enriches the whole of the fugue as it develops the piece.
The fugue offers many musical possibilities and for this arrangement, it has focused on being a pedagogical version; to teach instrumentalists how a fugue works, as well as Shostakovich's own speech. For this reason, writing as its technique is adapted for a quartet of students, as well as professionals who want to offer a pleasant and original recital.
