SATB (divisi) with soprano solo. For advanced choir or choral ensemble. The piece was written for a very special occasion: the 1500th anniversary of the Abbey of St. Maurice d'Agaune in Switzerland. The world premiere with the Choir of Trinity College Cambridge, directed by Stephen Layton was radio broadcasted by the national Swiss Radio. The title of the composition is "Agaunensis Cantus" and is divided in two movements. The text is the first part of the Canticle of Zechariah - This is the first of two movements, Benedictus. The second movement, Et tu, puer, can be added if you want
to have the whole text of the Canticle of Zechariah. It can also be performed as a single piece.
