I wrote a piece for a friend of mine, Emily Wespiser, called "A Ways In..." She played with a flute quartet and asked me to write her another piece, so this one is "Three Ways In..." The title of the last movement requires a bit of explaination. It was originally called Hexatonic, referring to the mode used throughout. I typed the title incorrectly as Jexatonic, but it sounds way cooler than Hexatonic, so I kept it.
