Product Description
The music for this contemporary Christian piece was written in 1984 by the Southern gospel singer/songwriter Buddy Greene, with words by Mark Lowry.
Over the years it has been recorded by numerous artists in the country and gospel genres, notably Michael English, Kathy Mattea, Clay Aiken, Kenny Rogers & Wynonna Judd, Cee Lo Green, Pentatonix and Jordan Smith.
It is reimagined here as a celtic ballad, shifting the tune into a lilting 3/4 rhythm.
Although not a stand-up solo feature, this piece heavily features the solo baritone player and really gives them a chance to shine. It was written for the principal baritone at Horbury Victoria Band, Simon Cooke.
Soprano and solo cornets are tacet throughout, making this piece an ideal Christmas concert filler, to give key players a break. The back row parts can be played by front row if desired.
Alternate clef trombone parts are provided, and trombone parts are cued across other instruments to accomodate bands with reduced numbers.
UPDATE: I have now expanded this arrangement to include an alternate version featuring principal horn. The majority of the backing parts remain the same, but where there are differences these are clearly marked.
