Product Description
Conflictus: Latin for conflict
or struggle.
To live is to embrace struggle. Even in a musical work can be heard both protagonist
and antagonist voices in conflict, motifs rivaling for preeminence as they
interweave, confront and overarch.
Such is the case with the fantasia, "Conflictus." It
begins with a simple theme on a single note; it ends in similar manner: a
placid unison as once-strident voices are drawn, still passively resisting, to a concordance.
But in between, this interlocked trio will
challenge, fight, cajole, ally, mock, mourn and rail with defiance. All within the brief musical foray of
"Conflictus."
