Product Description
In Greek mythology, Phobos & Deimos are the twin sons of Ares, god of war, known as Mars in Roman mythology. They are the personification of fear and dread, and it is said that they accompany their father into battle.
This work draws partially upon these influences, but more greatly upon depicting the celestial bodies that bear the same name. All three are desolate, bleak, and alien places. But as well as inspiring fear and dread, there is also a sense of wonder, mystery, and adventure shrouding them.
A story can be imagined; an intrepid space-faring hero visits these barren landscapes marked by war. What happened here? What perils lurk beneath the surface? What future adventures lie ahead?
Perfect for a concert opener, show-piece, or test-piece preparation, this new piece for brass band is great for aspiring 3rd section bands and higher.
