Product Description
By Mike Strand, ASCAP
This is a tango for soprano saxophone with piano accompaniment.
The audio sample presents the entire piece, using instrument sounds from Finale PrintMusic.
The structure follows the classic three-part (trio) structure of the traditional tangos originating in Buenos Aires. Ideal for dancing tango, it includes the traditional ending flourish of rapid notes.
This tango tells the story of a day in the work life of un cartero (a
postman, or letter carrier).
The work may include moving carts of mail to a
sorting area; sorting pieces to boxes corresponding to the carrier
route stops; loading the sorted mail into delivery containers); then taking this mail out into the streets to deliver the pieces. Much of this work (sorting to carrier routes and stops, for example) has been automated. But there is still the physical labor of loading the mail for delivery, and delivering the pieces of mail to addresses on the street.
