Product Description

CAROLAN'S CONCERTO is a popular tune played by Irish fiddlers and bands. Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738) was a blind Irish harpist often considered to be Ireland's national composer. He was an itinerant musician who traveled throughout Ireland composing and performing his tunes. McIntire's arrangement is for a STRING ENSEMBLE (two violins and cello) of players at the INTERMEDIATE SKILL LEVEL in which all the players participate in a lively exchange of the melody and its variations. This package includes a score and separate sheet music for each instrument. Other string ensemble arrangements by McIntire include Lord Inchiquin, Sailor' Hornpipe and Banish Misfortune/Cherish the Ladies, all available at this web site.
