This string Quartet has three movements and is in mid 20th Century style. It is an homage to the memory of the great string Quartet composers such as Bartok, Stravinsky, Shostakovich, and others of the early and mid 20th Century. Performance time is eight minutes, nine seconds.

This piece of chamber music is intended primarily for college-level and professional quartets. The performance practice calls for traditional techniques. Extended techniques such as scordatura tunings, tapping on the instrument, singing or humming while playing, using pencils and other tools instead of bows, and other similar devices are not called for.
