Product Description

Tom Lehrers A Christmas Carol (1954) was one bright spot in a sea of 1950s Christmas song sameness, (albeit a little too edgy for the BBC - they banned it from airplay). It is merry; it is tuneful; and yet in Lehrers own satirical way, it points out the true meaning of Christmas its commercialization. It also pays homage to traditional Christmas carols ("Hark! The Herald Angels Sing", "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen" and "Angels We Have Heard on High"). This arrangement is scored for 4-part SATB ensemble with piano accompaniment and optional sleigh bells. Performance time: 1:55+-
