The crisply elegant second movement (Allegretto) from Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 3 is known for its simple beauty and playful, hummable main theme. This accessible arrangement for one piano, four hands preserves the delicate interplay of Schubert's orchestral lines. It makes the ideal teacher-student recital piece at the advanced intermediate level. Arranger's Notes: The secundo part is more difficult than the primo because of the two-against-three pattern in the middle section. I created this arrangement as a Mother's Day gift for my mother Rae Anne Tyra in 2013. We still enjoy playing it together.
