Product Description

1936 instrumental popularized by the Benny Goodman orchestra, dubbed the Swing Era's "national anthem" by  Gunther Schuller ("The Swing Era", p.682).
Note-for-note transcription of part of Benny Goodman's improvisation.
Distinctive feature: syncopated last note of each bar in A sections.
Technical difficulty minimized without compromising musical quality; in particular the usual stride bass is replaced by a walking bass.
No repeat sections.
