"A fabulous concert opener"
Ever since I was a young boy, Ive always dreamed of writing for symphony orchestra.
There is something very enchanting about this large ensemble: the combined energies of
so many musicians on stage provide an experience that is truly unique to the listener.
Throughout my life I have attended countless orchestral concerts, witnessing this magic
over and over again. It seems hard to believe that the time has finally come to hear my
own musical imagination coming to life in a performance by a symphony orchestra; hence
I named my piece Elefsisthe Greek word used to describe the arrival of something very
special.
This piece is dedicated both to my family, for their unfailing support, and to my teacher
Dr. J. Mark Stambaugh, without whom this dream would have never materialized.
