These songs are settings of 9 powerful sonnets by Albrecht Haushofer, who wrote them while interned at Moabit, a Nazi prison for political prisoners, for his activities in the Resistance during World War II. All songs are set in the original German, with English translations appended. Total performance time: ca. 20 minutes. For a soprano with a wide range.
