This round in four simultanous keys uses interconnected snippets of motives from Guillaume de Machaut's Messe de Notre Dame. The dissonances recall polyphonic music of the 13th and 14th centuries, and there are moments of resolution, the entire piece coming to an octave cadence. The MP3 Audio Clip is a computer-generated soundfile using synthesized brass sounds. Duration: 1 1/2 minutes.
