Product Description
Entia
Imaginaria, from the Latin "imaginary beings" is a subject that
fascinates me, especially after reading Jorge Luis Borges's "Book of
Imaginary Beings".
This three
movements composition include:
1. Phoenix
- bird that dies by fire and then is reborn from its ashes;
2. Sirena
(Mermaid) - Creature part woman, part fish, whose beauty and singing lured
sailors against the rocks in the sea;
3.
Hippogryphus (Hippogriff) - Winged creature with the head of griffin and horse
body. It symbolizes an impossible union.
This work
was requested by Nuno Henriques (Bass Trombone), who I dedicate and was
composed between December 2011 and February 2012.
Versions
for Trombone Tenor & Strings, Bass Trombone & Piano and Tuba &
Piano also available.
