It was February 13, 2017 when I first watched the movie LA LA LAND in the theater. After hearing the song "City Of Stars" for the first time, I immediately loved the melody with its rhythmic and swinging charm. It is one of my favorite pieces to perform on the piano.
This intermediate piano solo arrangement is written in the key of A minor; not the original key, but one that may be easier for some piano students. It is clearly and carefully notated with dynamic marks, phrasing, suggested fingerings, pedal indications, chord identifications and appropriate musical terms. Eighth notes are to be played in a lilting or swing style throughout the piece.
This piano arrangement sounds artistic and complete, a wonderful selection, ideal for both recitals and enjoyment.
