With inspiration from Debussy's Arabesque, this arrangement of Channels Only reflects on the power of the Holy Spirit to flow through us as a channel to others. The first verse is simple, with 2 against 3 rhythm. "How I praise Thee, precious Savior, That Thy love laid hold of me..." The second verse moves to a LH melody: "Emptied that Thou shouldest fill me, A clean vessel in Thy hand..." After a brief modulation to A-flat major and a change of time signature to 4/4, a final passionate verse begins with octave chords: "Jesus, fill now with Thy Spirit hearts that full surrender know..." The arrangement concludes thoughtfully with a restatement of the opening melody.
