Product Description

Born in 1873, Ethel Barns studied at the Watford School of Music and later at the Royal Academy of Music in London before becoming well known as a violinist-composer in the early 1900s. During her career Barns composed over 120 works comprising orchestral, chamber and vocal music; she was one of the most important female composers of the early twentieth century and to date her music has been performed at the Proms twenty times.

LEscarpolett (in English Swing Song) is a short work for violin with piano accompaniment perfect for intermediate to professional performers. The work is on the Trinity College London 2020-2023 Grade 7 violin syllabus.
