My goal with this march was to write something easy enough for school bands, but still make it fun to play. You will notice that there are no notes in the very high register for any instrument, and that articulations are kept easy.

It's fun to play because every instrument has a good part! Being a former horn player, my policy is to never again write after-beats for the french horn. Whoever had the idea that french horn and alto horn players would only play after-beats must surely rank as one of the worst villains in music.
