This piece draws its inspiration from a trip to Rome in 2014 where the composer was invited to enjoy, but did not always accept, large plates of pasta and regional wines every evening by a persuasive hotel waiter. The fictional character 'Florian' in this piece is the composer's idea of the waiter himself going out to dine full of ebullience and eagerness.
