This is an arrangement of the incredibly famous piano piece Arabesque No. 1 by Claude Debussy for string quartet and soprano soloist. Inspired by the works of Heitor Villa Lobos in his work Bachianas Brasileiras, the piece draws from the evocative poetry of Arthur Rimbaud and brings to mind the images of nature shown through a woman's body. Ophélie is great for a recital of new music, or arrangements of old music! This piece should be performed by advanced singers and string players. These are the parts for the individual string instruments only.
