This is a fun piece for an intermediate-level string
orchestra. It is the second arrangement of mine that is a mash-up of traditional
Christmas carols. This one includes, Up on the House Top, The 12 Days of
Christmas, Here We Come a Wassailing, I Saw Three Ships A Sailing, Bring a
Torch Jeanette Isabelle, The Holly, and the Ivy, Toyland, O Tannenbaum. All
through the piece, different string sections play different melodies at the same
time.
While it is mostly a pizzicato piece there are some bowing
sections. It also gives the player a challenge to play pizzicato while holding
the bow in certain sections. This is a great piece for your Winter Concert. Approx 6 minutes long.
