Flavio Regis Cunha
Flavio Regis Cunha is a Brazilian musician, composer and conductor. He directs and publishes his arrangements and compositions in his publishing company known professionally as FRC Music. He is a distinguished conductor, pianist, composer, and educator. Hailing from Iguatu, CE, Brazil, his remarkable journey in the realm of music is marked by unparalleled dedication and artistic excellence.

Flavio's academic journey commenced with a degree in Marketing from U Mackenzie Presbyterian University in 2001. However, his passion for music led him to pursue further studies at the State University of Campinas - Unicamp, where he graduated in Conducting and Composition in 2009. His academic pursuits culminated in the attainment of both a Master's and Doctorate degree in 'Education, Arts, and History of Culture' from Mackenzie Presbyterian University.

Throughout his career, Flávio has had the privilege of studying under the guidance of esteemed mentors such as Carlos Fiorini, Eduardo Ostergren, Henrique Gregori, Parcival Modolo and Knut Andreas. His compositional skills were honed under the tutelage of Denise Garcia and Silvio Ferraz, shaping his unique musical voice.

As a composer, Flavio's works have graced both the silver screen and television, with notable contributions including the original song for the acclaimed short film "Dois Aquarios" in 2007. This work garnered recognition at prestigious events such as the Cannes Short Film Corner and the São Paulo Audiovisual Show. In 2009, he composed the original music for the short film "The Diary of Simonton" and the feature film "From Simonton to the Present Day," a documentary chronicling the emergence of Presbyterianism in Brazil.

In the realm of classical music, Flavio has demonstrated his versatility through compositions for string orchestras, chamber ensembles, and symphonic formations. His role as a resident composer at Mackenzie Presbyterian University underscores his commitment to artistic innovation and education.

In 2015, Flávio co-founded the Mackenzie University Orchestra alongside Maestro Parcival Modolo, where he serves as both conductor and composer. His passion for conducting has taken him across borders, with notable studies under conductors Knut Andreas and Parcival Modolo in Potsdam and Berlin. His collaborations with international ensembles, including the Collegium Musicum Potsdam and the Jugend Sinfonieorchester of the Georg-Friedrich-Handel-Gymnasium in Berlin, highlight his global impact and musical prowess.

In 2023, Flavio's arrangements were showcased by the Festival Sinfonieorchester Berlin orchestra, conducted by Maestro Knut Andreas, in prestigious concert halls across Germany, including the Philharmonie Berlin, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, and the Laeiszhalle Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
