Harpstead Music

Ella Harpstead is a Minnesota-based composer, arranger, euphonium player, and arts writer.

Harpstead's primary musical focus is on concert bands of all ages and abilities, though she loves to explore edgier sounds through chamber music. Her works have been commissioned and performed by large and small ensembles including the Minnesota Symphonic Winds, St. Olaf Band, Edina and Northfield high school concert bands, and the Mivos Quartet.

Harpstead is a graduate of St. Olaf College, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition and concentrations in German and Film Studies. She finds inspiration in nature and travel, and enjoys hikes with her dog Rosie to ruminate on ideas.
