Ken Barker

Ken Barker has served as a professional music editor for forty-five years, at Word Music, Lifeway Worship, and currently at CCT Music. He started playing the piano in the 5th grade, took lessons in high school at the S.M.U. Piano Preparatory Department in Dallas, worked his way through a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Music Education as an accompanist for recitals (voices and every instrument), and has had many piano solo books and arrangements published since college.

Ken was also an accomplished trumpet player, making second chair in both the top Texas All-State Symphonic Band and Orchestra in high school, playing first chair at Lake Highlands High School (top Honor Band in all of Texas), and playing in the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra. At the University of North Texas (Denton) while working on a Masters Degree he served as a Teaching Fellow teaching undergraduate students, played in the world-renowned One O'Clock Lab Band, played in Anshel Brusilov's Symphony Orchestra, and taught the trumpet students at Midwestern State University.
