Samuel Wernain

A French composer of contemporary classical music, Samuel Wernain explores contrasting worlds, between tension and calm, clarity and mystery. His writing is poetic and vibrant, combining harmonic finesse, sincere and natural melodies, rhythmic surges and unexpected play on timbre.

Trained on the organ and passionate about the expressive possibilities of this instrument (owner of a magnificent new Brayé organ, and member of a college of organists playing on a superb Mutin Cavaillé-Coll symphony organ with a unique history), he also composes for keyboard and instrument(s), choir, piano, ensembles and orchestra. 

He also arranges and adapts famous works, generally for organ or organ and instrument(s).

His music, which is both accessible and demanding, is aimed as much at amateurs keen to discover a sensitive and contemporary aesthetic as at professional musicians.
