Larry Stepler

My career in music began about 50 years ago as a student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where I studied music with a major in percussion and a minor in composition. I graduated there in 1978 with a teaching degree and served as a percussion graduate assistant for a semester. I was an instrumental music teacher from 1981 through 2011 and continue to teach beginning band students in my teaching retirement. My wife has been a choir directer at our local church since 1983 where I sing bass. She is also choir director at Penn State Mont Alto Campus. I have performed semi-professionally as a percussionist in percussion ensembles, chamber groups, orchestras, and bands throughout my music career.
