Jane Patterson

Jane Patterson is the founder and musical director of female a cappella quartet Ginger and Tonic based in Melbourne, Australia. As well as performing regularly with the group, she is also the group's arranger and songwriter, and has received a Green Room Award for Best Musical Direction in a Cabaret for their show "Desperate and Dateless". Ginger and Tonic specialise in a cappella pop covers and original songs, and have written and performed four full length cabaret shows at festivals around Australia. 

Jane began her musical training early, starting violin lessons at age 4. Forever juggling her love for both singing and the violin, she completed the foundation course in Music Theatre at the Victorian College of the Arts before going on to complete a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Music at Monash University, majoring in classical violin performance. During her time at Monash, Jane received the Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship for Concertmaster. 

​Jane is an experienced voice teacher and choral director, having taught and directed choirs at schools across Melbourne, and was the musical director of community youth choir Harambee for four years.

Jane also performs alongside Lisa Hanley in Jane & Lisa Duo, performing at events, weddings and bars. Jane offers both violin and voice lessons from her home studio in Melbourne.
