David Warin Solomons
David Warin Solomons, born in 1953, started his musical life relatively late, beginning on violin at school at age 14 and progressing to teaching himself classical guitar and singing in subsequent years.
He began composing almost immediately (also self-taught), but his early works, which tended to concentrate on voice and guitar, were only rarely heard in public.

The big breakthroughs came with his move to Manchester where he met many musicians and was able to arrange for performances of his works in the Cathedral (where he also sang alto for 12 years) and the RNCM (Royal Northern College of Music) among other local venues.

The Internet also proved very fruitful, because he was able to contact musicians all over the globe and composed works for them to perform.
Most of his works are for small forces, they are tonal and lyrical in style and often explore less-used modes (Dorian, Octatonic, various Japanese and Jewish modes etc).
They cover a wide range of instruments, including flute and guitar, clarinet and guitar, vocal and choral pieces (both religious and humorous), string ensembles, tuba quartets, woodwind combinations, a smattering of keyboard works, several orchestral pieces and a large number of guitar solos.

He has also created many instrumental and vocal arrangements of public domain works ranging from the 14th to the 20th centuries and also instrumental versions of more recent works (especially The Beatles) under the copyright sharing system provided by Hal Leonard Inc.

Many of his compositions can also be seen on Youtube and heard on Itunes, Spotify etc.

David now lives in Loughborough in the East Midlands of England, and concentrates on making videos of his compositions and arrangements and also commissioning professional performances
