Decent arrangement; terrible music layout
Review by Ben R. on 23 Oct 2024 review stating Die With A Smile - Piano/Vocal/Guitar
A decent arrangement is badly let down by the poor attention the arranger has paid to the layout of the parts and the score. No thought has gone into page turns, nor page layout, resulting in unnecessary waste of paper, and inefficient score reading. Eg. the final page of the score contains one bar!! Why on earth could this have not been condensed into the previous page? Everything also has an unnecessarily large margin which means the staves are printed on the small side. Finally, there is an awful lot of use of the repeat bar marking (./.). I find this an outdated practise that should be restricted to percussion parts, and makes for an awkward read for most musicians, especially when space isn't an issue - just completely unnecessary.
