"Bella Ciao" ("Goodbye Beautiful") is an Italian folk song that originated in the late 1800s as a protest song against harsh working conditions for women in the paddy fields of North Italy. Later on, it was modified as an anti-fascist anthem against Nazi German occupying forces. Today, this song is sung worldwide as an anti-fascist hymn of freedom.
