Product Description

This is an advanced six-part (SSAATB) a cappella arrangement of The Chain, suitable for high school or collegiate vocal jazz ensembles. This piece has lots of intricate rhythms, and is a great way to work on reading, feeling, and counting sixteenth-note syncopations. There are various non-lexical syllables that are designed to mimic different parts of the rock band, and close harmonies to work on ensemble singing.

There is no divisi in the tenor and bass parts, so this piece will balance well if you have many more sopranos and altos than tenors and basses. Basses should have a strong and comfortable low end, however, since the tessitura sits around the low E. A piano reduction is included for rehearsal purposes.

This would be a great piece to showcase your jazz choir's a cappella singing, as well as for them to try out a piece in a different genre. This could easily open or close a set or a concert!
