Seven Studies for Solo Mallet Percussion are designed as supplemental short solos that allow students to work on their mallet percussion skills in addition to their regular lesson books. These pieces can be played on xylophone, marimba, vibraphone or orchestra bells. The 21 pieces in this collection are for beginner through intermediate students that have been playing for a little while, are played with two mallets and give the students practice in key signatures up to three sharps and flats, time signatures including 4/4, 3/4, 2/4 and 6/8. The beginning of the collection starts with quarter notes, half notes and whole notes, than the pieces include eighth notes and sixteenth notes, triplets, double stops, grace notes, rolls and notes up to two ledger lines above and below the treble clef staff. The three volumes are also available separately and each solo is also available separately.
