Johann Christoph Pezel was a German violinist, trumpeter, and composer. He used these talents by the age of 30 to begin a prolific career as a composer, primarily of instrumental music. Many of his works are still exciting and fun to play even today. His influence helped create the instrumental styles used in orchestras today. He sadly died too young at age 55.
