Product Description

Franz Liszt admired his fellow Hungarian poet Sandor Petofi and on several occasions set Petofi's poems to music. At the age of 26 Petofi was killed in battle during the Hungarian Revolution. Franz Liszt composed the Petofi Elegy as a tribute to his friend.
Although it begins in a slow minor key, it is majestic and defiant, never a sad funeral march. Then it goes to the parallel tonic major key for a theme of emotional beauty, before ending with a grandiose finale of triumph.
I have simplified the often thick harmony to 2 part writing without losing the essence of the piece. I have added many more markings of dynamics, articulations, phrasing, tempos, etc. Every single measure has an extra marking to observe making it a very expressive piece.
This dramatic piece will show your maturity of performance technique.
Range- Part 1...1 1/2 octaves; Part 2...10th
2 page score, 1 page parts
5:16 minutes (with repeat)
