Product Description

Angels We Have Heard on High with Away in a Manger for SSA choir with piano, trumpet trio, and Childrens Voices
arranged by Stephen R Dalrymple
French Christmas Carol (unknown composer and lyricist). The original lyrics of this song were French - Les Anges dans non campagnes. Our English paraphrase was created by James Chadwick in 1862. In the USA the lyrics are most often sung to GLORIA, arranged by Edward Shippen Barnes (1887-1958).
Away in a Manger (author of lyrics for verses 1 and 2 unknown [earliest publishing known 1885] verse 3 by John Thomas McFarland (1851-1913) melody by William J Kirkpatrick (1895)
This arrangement could be sung by a SAT choir instead of a SSA with some minor tweaking of the tenor line. The trumpets are optional, the sounds are also in the piano part. A soloist or soprano section could substitute for the childrens voices, but children love to sing the Gloria refrain.
A grand old Christmas carol with the story told from the shepherds point of view.
