The movements of the tone poem Sketches of Christ are written using contemporary classical music composition techniques.
The story line behind the movement is Jesus calming the storm on the Sea of Galilee. The composer uses polychords for the Christ theme. The disciples theme is set in the Phrygian mode with quartal chord formations. Clashing themes produce significant dissonance through out the movement.
