Three Blinde Mice, Three Blinde Mice, Dame Iulian, Dame Iulian, the Miller and his merry olde Wife, shee scrapte her tripe licke thou the knife. The rhyme entered Childrens literature in 1842 as published by James Orchard Halliwell. It has been quoted in compositions by Robert Schumann (Kreisleriana #7), Joseph Holbrooke (Symphonic Variations), Franz Joseph Haydn (Symphony 83 movement 4), Eric Coates (The Three Men), Leroy Anderson (Fiddle Faddle), Antonín Dvořák (Symphony No. 9 movement IV Allegro con fuoco,) Havergal Brian (Fantastic Variations on an Old Rhyme), and possibly Sergei Rachmaninoff (Piano Concerto No. 4 movement 2). This humorous version was written for a school choir, based on imaginary banter between between the farmers wife and her husband.
