Product Description
Philip Le Bas' "Repton Variations" are scored for wind sextet (flute, oboe, clarinet in B flat, bass clarinet in B flat, horn in F, and bassoon) and last a full 15 minutes.
"Repton" is the name of the tune by Sir Hubert Parry for the well-known and much loved hymn "Dear Lord and Father of Mankind". Philip Le Bas has created a series of ten variations on the original theme, each widely different in character, and each given a subtitle from lines of the original hymn. The finale is a rollicking fugue!
