This heartfelt ballad to lost love is the perfect vehicle for a singer to demonstrate their range, sense of rhythm and pitch control.
The Vocal part is in the higher part of the Soprano range, from A4 to D6 (i.e. from A in the second space of the stave to D two ledger lines above the stave.) The range covers an octave and a fourth.
The Piano part is fairly straightforward. The left hand spans no more than an octave, and in most bars is a single-note bass line. The right hand has repeating chord clusters (no more than three notes at a time) with some surprisingly simple but delicious voicings for the more complex chords. Students should take note of accents and syncopations, as wellas the crucial dynamic markings.
Duration is approx 3 minutes 45 seconds
