2015 Holiday Contest This is another of my favorite Christmas songs, which is less familiar than the traditional ones. Christina Rossettis visually descriptive words and Mahlers nearly understated melody combine to create a completely satisfying, musical experience. Ive arranged this as a four hand/one piano duet. Your goal? Two playing as one. Of course, twice the fingers allows us to create some additional colors and textures, but be mindful of playing with unity and precision. Keep the melody prominent, and the accompaniment parts secondary. Throughout the piece, emphasize the falling snow motif that begins in the introduction, allowing it to interpret and color the entire arrangement.
