This arrangement of Iko Iko is written in D major and follows a form that is somewhere between the versions recorded by The Dixie Cups and Dr. John. It features a "Bo Diddley" New Orleans groove throughout along with an open solo section at the end of the chart for any player to have a blow over. Brass ranges are generally moderate (although some D6s are written in the trumpets and A5s in the trombones) and rhythm section parts are notated throughout.
