Product Description
Siciliano by J S Bach arranged for Violin and Piano
Most arrangements of this music (the 2nd movement of J.S. Bachs
Sonata in E Flat for Flute and Cembalo BWV1031) repeat the first 22 bars of the
original score, thus creating a lengthier piece suitable for a concert
program. In this new arrangement, however, the repeated section is made more
interesting by reversing the roles of the solo and accompaniment parts: the
piano now plays the melodic line (along with the bass line as before) whilst
the soloist provides the accompanying counterpoint. Bachs original manuscript
contains no performance directions other than a fermata (pause) at the very
end. All performance directions in this version are suggestions only.
