This entertaining piece was written in 1846 by Lumbye who became known as the Strauss of the North as his music was similar to Johann Strauss's and popular at the time. The music is really dream-like with its many changes of mood, much like how dreams often move from one scene to another without warning. It is set for flute, oboe, Bb clarinet, F horn, and bassoon.
