Product Description
Variations for violin, viola and cello on a madrigal by Thomas Weelkes - an English composer and organist at Chichester Cathedral - in one of his many lighter moments
I haven't added a tabor part (neither did Weelkes) but a drummer or tabor player can certainly improvise along, of course....
In these variations the key changes and the third instrument has some cheeky alternatives to its part.
A version for two violins and cello (closer to the original vocal layout of the madrigal) is also available.
A simple transcription of the original for string trio is also available
The sound sample is an electronic preview.
The pdf file contains score and parts.
