Poem by Gourgen Mahari translated by James Russell, set to music by David W Solomons This song with its slow limping 7/4 evokes the tiredness of the Swallows on their way home and the fact that they may die trying to reach it. The swallows represent the Armenian people after the 1915 massacre and the diaspora that followed. This is the original setting for alto and guitar. A version for alto and piano is also available. The sound sample is a performance by the composer.
